SavyClip respects the rights of creators and copyright owners and expects its visitors to do the same. This policy explains how SavyClip works with regard to copyright, how rights holders can send a notice, what happens after a notice, how a counter-notice works and how we deal with repeated misuse.
1. How SavyClip works
SavyClip does not host, publish or keep media. It has no pages for individual videos, no search and no gallery of content saved by visitors. When a visitor pastes a link to a public post and presses Download, our server fetches the file from the platform where it is published and passes it to that visitor, converting it first if requested. Temporary files are deleted after the download, and the submitted link is deleted after about an hour.
Visitors must have the right to save and use the content they request, as our Terms of Service require. We do not allow access to private, paid or DRM-protected content, and live streams cannot be saved.
2. Before you send a notice
Because the content stays on the original platform, the most effective way to stop it from being available is usually to report it to that platform, which can remove it at the source. TikTok, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), X, Reddit, Pinterest, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch and YouTube all have their own copyright reporting forms.
You can also send a notice to us if you believe that SavyClip is being used to infringe your rights, for example to make your content available through our service.
3. How to send a copyright notice
Send your notice by email to [email protected]. To let us act on it, the notice must include:
- your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address, and, if you act for someone else, the name of the rights holder you represent;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed;
- the exact link or links to the content on the original platform (for example the address of the TikTok video or Instagram post) and an explanation of how SavyClip is involved;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use described is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is sufficient for an electronic signature).
4. What happens next
We confirm that we have received your notice and review it carefully. If it is incomplete, we will ask you for the missing information. When a notice is valid, we take the action the case requires, for example restricting the service for the content concerned and limiting access for those responsible for misuse. We will tell you what we have done.
We may share a copy of the notice with the people affected by it, for example the person who published the content and who may send a counter-notice. Please note that notices which knowingly and materially misrepresent that content is infringing may make the sender liable for damages.
5. Counter-notice
If you believe that action was taken in error, for example because the content is your own or you have permission to use it, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected]. It must include:
- your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- the links to the content concerned;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the action was taken as a result of a mistake or misidentification;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent courts for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which SavyClip may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent;
- your physical or electronic signature.
6. After a counter-notice
We forward a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If that person does not inform us within 10 to 14 business days that they have started court proceedings to stop the use of the content, we may reverse the action we took.
7. Repeated misuse
SavyClip has no user accounts, so there are no accounts to close. Where we can identify repeated infringing use of the service, for example automated or large-scale saving of content that was the subject of valid notices, we block the access responsible for it. We also reserve the right to disregard notices from senders who repeatedly send unfounded or abusive notices.
8. Contact
Copyright notices and counter-notices: [email protected]. Other questions: [email protected]. Please do not send copyright notices through the general contact form, so they can be handled with the required care.
