SavyClip never asks for your Instagram password and does not sign in to your account. It only reads posts from public accounts, which also means it depends on how much Instagram shows to visitors who are not signed in.
What you can download
- Reels and videos from public accounts, as MP4
- Single photos in the size Instagram publishes
- Carousels: every photo and video separately, or all photos at once as a ZIP
- The sound of a reel or video as an MP3
- The cover image of a reel or video
How to use it
Step 1: Copy the post link
In the Instagram app, tap the paper-plane Share icon under the post and choose Copy link.
Step 2: Paste it into SavyClip
Paste the link into the box on the SavyClip home page and press Download.
Step 3: Pick what to save
Choose the video, a photo, a single carousel item, the ZIP with all photos or the MP3.
Step 4: Download
Press Download next to your choice. On a phone, the file goes to your Downloads folder, ready to move to your gallery.
Which Instagram links work
Use the link of a single post or reel. These forms are recognized, with or without the username in the address:
- https://www.instagram.com/p/CxAbC123dEf/ (photo, video or carousel post)
- https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxAbC123dEf/ and https://www.instagram.com/reels/CxAbC123dEf/
- https://www.instagram.com/tv/CxAbC123dEf/ (older IGTV videos)
- https://www.instagram.com/share/AbC123xyz/ (share links from the app)
Where to find Copy link
On iPhone and Android, tap the paper-plane icon below a post or on the right side of a reel. In the panel that opens, Copy link is in the row of round buttons at the bottom; on some versions you need to scroll that row. You can also tap the three dots at the top of a post and choose Copy link there if it is listed.
On a computer, open the post on instagram.com so that it fills the page or opens in a window, then copy the address from the address bar, or click the three dots and choose Copy link.
Why Instagram sometimes fails
Instagram limits what visitors who are not signed in can see, and it applies the same limits to servers. When those limits are active, a public post that opens fine in your app may briefly fail on SavyClip with a message that the platform asks visitors to sign in. Waiting a few minutes and trying again usually helps. Posts from private accounts never work, because only approved followers can see them.
Photos are saved in the size Instagram publishes, typically up to 1080 pixels wide. Reels and videos are usually available in 720p or 1080p, depending on the upload.
Common problems and fixes
Most problems have one of these causes:
- "This post is private": the account is private. Only posts from public accounts can be saved.
- "This kind of post can't be saved": the link is a profile, a story, a highlight or the Explore page instead of a post.
- "The platform asks visitors to sign in": Instagram is limiting access right now. Try again later.
- A carousel item is missing: it may have been removed by the author after posting. Open the post in the app to check.
Respect people's photos
Instagram posts are often personal: they show people, homes and moments that were shared with an audience, not handed out for reuse. Save posts for your own reference, ask before reposting and credit the author when they agree. Never use someone's photos to impersonate, embarrass or track them.
Limitations
- Only posts from public accounts can be saved.
- Instagram sometimes limits visitors who are not signed in, so a public post may occasionally fail to load.
- Stories, highlights and profile pages are not supported.
- Live broadcasts and age-restricted posts are not supported.
Questions and answers
Can I download Instagram stories?
No. Stories, highlights and profile pages are not supported. SavyClip works with posts and reels from public accounts.
Does the person know that I saved their post?
SavyClip reads the public post without any Instagram account, so the download is not linked to your profile.
How do I save every photo of a carousel at once?
Choose the ZIP option in the result, when it is shown. It contains all photos of the post in their original order; videos in a carousel are saved one by one.
Why did a post work yesterday but not today?
Instagram changes how much it shows to visitors who are not signed in. If a public post fails, try again a little later; the status on this page shows how Instagram has been working on this server.
