Reddit Video, Image and Gallery Downloader

Reddit stores the picture and the sound of its videos as separate streams, which is why many tools save Reddit videos without audio. SavyClip combines both into one MP4 file, so the video you save plays with its sound, just as it does on Reddit.

How to use it

  1. Step 1: Copy the post link

    In the Reddit app, tap Share below the post and choose Copy link.

  2. Step 2: Paste it into SavyClip

    Paste the link into the box on the SavyClip home page and press Download.

  3. Step 3: Pick a file

    Choose a video quality, the MP3, a single image or the ZIP with the whole gallery.

  4. Step 4: Download

    Press Download next to your choice. Videos arrive as one MP4 file with picture and sound.

Which Reddit links work

Use the link of a single post. All of these forms are recognized, including the share links the app creates and direct media links:

Where to find Copy link

On iPhone and Android, tap the Share button below the post (an arrow on iPhone, the share symbol on Android) and choose Copy link. The copied link usually looks like reddit.com/r/community/s/ followed by a short code; SavyClip follows it to the post automatically.

On a computer, click Share below the post and choose Copy link, or open the post and copy the address from the address bar. On old.reddit.com, click the post's comments link first so that the address points to the post itself.

Quality and sound

Reddit offers its videos in several resolutions, often up to 1080p for recent uploads. SavyClip lists the versions Reddit provides and merges the sound into each one. Some videos were uploaded without sound, and posts that Reddit shows as GIFs are silent videos; in those cases the file has no audio and no MP3 is offered.

Images and gallery pictures are saved in the resolution Reddit stores, which is usually the size the poster uploaded.

Common problems and fixes

If a Reddit link fails, it is usually one of these situations:

  • "This post is age-restricted": posts marked NSFW are not supported.
  • "This post is private": the community is private or quarantined, so the post is only visible to approved members.
  • "No video or image found": the post is a text post, or it links to another website such as YouTube or an image host. Paste that website's link instead if it is supported.
  • "We couldn't find this post": the post or the media was removed by the author or the moderators.

Respect the original poster

Many Reddit posts are reposts of work made by someone else. Before reusing a video or image, find out who made it and ask for permission, credit them by name, and keep in mind that community rules on Reddit often forbid reposting without credit. Personal photos of people should never be reshared without their consent.

Limitations

  • Posts marked NSFW are not supported.
  • Posts in private or quarantined communities are not supported.
  • Posts that only link to another website are not supported; paste that website's link instead.
  • Videos uploaded without sound stay silent, and no MP3 is offered for them.

Why do other tools save Reddit videos without sound?

Reddit delivers the picture and the sound as two separate files. Tools that save only the first file lose the audio. SavyClip downloads both and merges them into one MP4.

Can I download a whole gallery at once?

Yes. When a post has two or more images, the result offers a ZIP with all of them, as well as each image separately.

Do the reddit.com/r/.../s/ share links work?

Yes. These are the links the Reddit app copies by default. SavyClip follows them to the original post.

Can I save comments or a whole community?

No. SavyClip saves the media of one post at a time. Text, comments and listing pages are not supported.
